Web remote

BiscuitTin can serve a touch-friendly remote for your phone: a d-pad, OK and Back, and a button per tile.

The web remote has no login. Anyone who can reach its port can press buttons and run pinned tiles. So it is off by default, and only starts when you switch it on. Only enable it on a trusted network.

Turning it on

  1. Open More > Settings.

  2. Set Web control to On. The server starts straight away on 0.0.0.0.

  3. Optionally set QR code on home screen to Shown, so a phone can scan the address. The QR code only appears while web control is running.

More > Diagnostics shows the address. Switching web control off stops the server.

Port

The port is $PORT if set, else webControl.port, else 8137.

webControl:
  port: 8137

API

The page talks to BiscuitTin over ConnectRPC (protocol/biscuittin/v1/remote.proto, RemoteService), so other clients can use the same API: GetState, PressButton and ActivateTile.
