RetroArch
RetroArch is the libretro frontend: consoles, arcade and computers through one gamepad-friendly UI. This is the first tile on the screenshot home screen.
Config
entries:
- title: RetroArch
subtitle: Retro games
command: [retroarch]
That starts the RetroArch menu.
Cores, playlists and shaders stay in RetroArch’s own config (~/.config/retroarch/).
To jump straight into a core and a game, add those arguments:
- title: RetroArch
subtitle: Retro games
command: [retroarch, -L, /usr/lib64/libretro/snes9x_libretro.so, ~/roms/example.sfc]
Paths are the host’s, and may start with ~/ or $ENV.
If RetroArch is a Flatpak
command: [flatpak, run, org.libretro.RetroArch]
The Flathub id is org.libretro.RetroArch.
Give that Flatpak access to your ROM directories if you keep them outside its home.
Notes
-
The icon is looked up as
RetroArch. LeaveiconQueryunset unless the tile shows a letter. -
RetroArch stays running until you quit it, so leave
restoreOnExitat the default (true). The launcher comes back when RetroArch exits, or when you hold Guide. -
If the window is small on a TV, set fullscreen in RetroArch (Settings > Video), or pass
-f. -
RetroArch’s own log is appended to
~/.cache/biscuittin/retroarch.log(seelogDirin the Configuration reference).
