Tile icons

Entries without an icon file get one from the iconProviders list, searched by the entry’s title (or iconQuery).

  • thesvg is thesvg.org. Only exact slug, title or alias matches are used.

  • iconify is the Iconify API, used for OliveTin and Home Assistant icons such as mdi:lightbulb.

SVGs are rendered to PNG and cached under ~/.cache/biscuittin/icons/; no icons are bundled with the app. Lookups run in the background, so tiles show their first letter until the icon arrives. Unmatched lookups are retried after a day, and the thesvg list is refreshed weekly.

If a tile shows a letter, thesvg has no exact match for the title. Set iconQuery, or point icon at a PNG.
