Steam

Steam in Big Picture (the controller UI) is the second tile on the screenshot home screen.

Config

-gamepadui is Steam’s current Big Picture / Steam Deck UI. Older Steam builds used -bigpicture instead.

restoreOnExit: false is required. If Steam is already running, steam hands off to that process and exits straight away. BiscuitTin would otherwise treat the exit as "Steam closed" and show the home screen again on top of the client. Hold Guide to bring the launcher back while Steam is up.

If Steam is a Flatpak

The Flathub id is com.valvesoftware.Steam.

Notes

  • The icon is looked up as Steam.

  • Steam writes its own logs; BiscuitTin also appends the process output to ~/.cache/biscuittin/steam.log.

  • A library or a specific game can be started with extra Steam arguments, for example steam://rungameid/<id>. Keep restoreOnExit: false for those as well.
